EAG International Airport opens to international traffic

On 20 March 2025, EAG International Airport (EAX / SMEG) opened for fixed-wing international operations. The airport is operated by EAG Airport Management N.V. from its site at Gummelsweg 117, Paramaribo.

The airport is open daily from 06:00 to 22:00, with a 1199 meter by 23 meter runway and Jet A-1 fuel always available. Airlines currently operating scheduled services to and from EAG are Gum Air and Trans Guyana Airways.

Customs, immigration and ground handling are available on site, arranged and quoted in advance for each flight.
