Procedures

Your journey through the terminal

The steps for departure and arrival.

Departure: check-in and boarding

Check in with your operating airline at the terminal desk. Have your travel document and booking reference ready.

After check-in, all passengers and personal items are screened before entering the departure area. Only a personal item travels in the cabin; trolley carry-ons are loaded in the hold. Follow crew and staff instructions at all times.

Board when your flight is called and follow staff instructions.

The ICF form is required when departing Suriname as well as on arrival. Complete it before you come to the airport.

Passengers travelling to Guyana also complete the Guyana ED form online before departure.

Arrival: immigration and baggage

Customs and immigration are on site at EAG. On arrival from an international sector you pass immigration before collecting your baggage.

The ICF form is required on arrival in Suriname. Complete it in advance to keep your arrival short.

Fast Track and the VIP Courtesy Lounge

Assisted handling through customs and immigration is available on arrival and departure, as is the full VIP Courtesy Lounge experience. Both are requested in advance.

Special assistance

Wheelchair and special assistance is arranged by your airline when you book your flight. Contact Gum Air or Trans Guyana Airways reservations before travel; the airport team assists on the day.

Before boarding

Security

Passengers and baggage are screened before entering the departure area.

Aircraft on the EAG apron outside the terminal.
  • • All passengers and baggage are screened before entering the departure area. Restricted and dangerous goods are governed by the operating airline and by Surinamese law. If in doubt about an item, ask your airline before you pack it.
  • • Label each piece with your name and contact details, inside and out. Keep medication, documents, valuables and electronics in your personal item. On the aircraft serving EAG only a personal item travels in the cabin; trolley carry-ons are loaded in the hold. Your airline ticket states the allowance.
  • • The main categories are explosives and flammable substances, firearms and weapons, sharp objects, tools, self-defense items, toxic and corrosive substances, and restricted liquids.

Baggage allowance: Baggage allowances are set by the operating airline, not by the airport. Check your allowance with Gum Air or Trans Guyana Airways before traveling. Regional turboprop services carry tighter weight limits than long-haul flights.
