IATA EAX, ICAO SMEG

EAG (SMEG) is the aviation platform for Suriname's offshore energy sector. Heliport Paramaribo, built here in 2015, was the country's first dedicated heliport for helicopter operations supporting offshore oil and gas.

Why EAG for offshore

Offshore operations since 2015

The heliport was developed specifically to support helicopter operations for the offshore oil and gas sector. The site around it carries the rest of the operation: dedicated helicopter parking, terminal and office facilities, hangars and operational support infrastructure.

Crews handled in the terminal

The apron includes two helicopter parking spots alongside the certified heliport, so rotations run from a stand kept for them. Passenger and baggage handling is provided on site, in a terminal sized for compact rotations rather than for mass traffic. Aviation security screening is provided for passengers and baggage moving through EAG.
